What is Strider on NES worth?
While looking and playing nothing like the arcade game the NES Strider port was pretty popular regardless.
As a typical side scrolling platformer you guide Hiryu through a convoluted consipiracy reminiscent of Soviet Russia.
When I first played the game it felt glitchy and incomplete but the music and attention to the various graphic detail made up for it.
While I’ll always prefer the arcade or SEGA Genesis version, the NES version of Strider should be in every gamer’s collection.
So what’s a copy of Strider worth? Well while copies can be found for as low as $5, a decent copy with little to no wear will set you back as much as $10.
What’s a copy of Metroid II worth?
Back in the early days of the original Game Boy’s life there were a bunch of junk titles, but there were also some amazing titles and Metroid II is certainly one of them.
The action-adventure sequel of the popular NES game finds the return of Samus, who is on a mission again to rid a planet of alien Metroids. The game ends in a surprising plot twist which sets the stage for Super Metroid which of course was released on the Super Nintendo a few years later.
Metroid II was an amazing game whose only real flaw was the Game Boy hardware itself which was notoriously blurry, but that problem is solved with a Super Game boy or in any of the iterations of Game Boy Advance.
So what’s a copy of Metroid II worth? While you might be able to find sub-par condition copies for as low as $10, most copies with little to no wear will set you back $15 – $20.
What’s a copy of The CastleVania Adventure for Game Boy worth?
When the CastleVania Adventure was released on Game Boy it solidified the fact that 3rd party support would be there and our favorite franchises would survive on the small screen!
Story wise the game takes place a century before the original game on the NES. The concept is the same – destroy Dracula. The game has four stages, with a boss at the end of each stage. Familiar weapons and power ups are available through out the quest.
Unlike The CastleVania Adventure II, the original Game Boy game is pretty common and not expensive at all.
So what is a copy of the CastleVania Adventure worth? A reasonable copy will set you back about $8.
What’s a copy of Game Boy Tetris worth?
Who hasn’t played Tetris before? Quite possibly the most famous version ever made, Tetris for the original Game Boy is easily recognizable.
As a pack-in game for many years the formula was simple: buy a Game Boy and get Tetris. Not surprising many people bought a Game Boy for Tetris!
But after all of these years are copies of the game actually worth anything? Surprisingly the game isn’t as inexpensive as you might think. As the original pack in game many copies have seen their fair share of abuse. Faded, worn, ripped, and missing label copies are very easy to find for cheap.
But nice clean copies of Tetris are still easy to find as well and I know from my own personal experience that I’ve found a number of copies in thrift stores at relatively inexpensive prices.
So what’s a copy of Game Boy Tetris worth? Expect to pay as little as $2 for those worn copies, and as much as $7 to $10 for a nice clean copy.
What is a copy of Super Mario Land 2 worth?
Super Mario Land 2 is a natural sequel to the original Super Mario Land and features several new Game Play elements that makes the game stand on its own.
A new power up, a carrot, is introduced which allows Mario to gently defy gravity by flickering a set of rabbit ears. Larger sprites are used in the game which brings more personality and expression to not just Mario but to the enemies as well. An over world map which had become tradition at this point in the Super Mario universe groups the various “lands” together and allows the gamer to approach them in their own unique order.
The various lands feature many new enemies and bosses and while the game is very different to most Super Mario games it is easily recognizable and playable.
Like the previous Super Mario Land game, Super Mario Land 2 has memorable music and bonus games to earn power ups or 1ups. Again, a new protagonist is introduced – Wario, whose castle is accessible only after obtaining 6 gold coins located at the end of each of the lands.
All in all Super Mario Land 2 is a great game deserving to be in any Game Boy gamer’s collection.
So what’s a copy of Super Mario Land 2 worth? While you can find decent copies on eBay for around $5, a really nice one with a clean intact label can run as much as $12.
What’s a copy of Forgotten Worlds for SEGA Genesis worth?
SEGA did well for themselves after the launch of the SEGA Genesis by licensing several Capcom games including Ghouls ‘N’ Ghosts, Strider, and this game Forgotten Worlds!
We can’t say we know much about Forgotten Worlds except that it looks like a spiritual sequel to Side Arms. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but to that end we haven’t heard too many great things about Forgotten Worlds. But we don’t review games so much as we give you pricing information!
So what’s a copy of Forgotten Worlds for SEGA Genesis worth? For loose copies expect to pay about $6; with box $12, and complete with manual about $18.
What’s a copy of Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle worth?
Back in the day if you were the first kid on your block to own a SEGA Genesis you would have been limited in your choices for games to buy.
Unless you already familiar with the Alex Kidd series it would have been easy to overlook this title which looks very child focused – almost like an edutainment game.
We won’t share our opinion of the game itself, as there are plenty of review sites and YouTube videos that eviscerate the game. But if you’re interested in collecting the game Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is worth about $12.
What’s a copy of Space Harrier II for SEGA Genesis worth?
For as amazing as Space Harrier II is SEGA sure chose lousy box art for the game. As an early release for the SEGA Genesis Space Harrier II showed off more of the hardware’s capabilities including large fast moving sprites.
The original Space Harrier struggled on the SEGA Master system and this version was a huge step closer to the arcade experience. It’s not as common as some of the other launch titles like Altered Beast so the game might be more difficult to find, but its still relatively expensiveness. Copies of Space Harrier II can be found for as low as $8.
What’s a copy of Altered Beast worth for SEGA Genesis?
Altered Beast was not the perfect pack-in for the SEGA Genesis. Compared to Nintendo’s squeaky clean image of Mario, the cover of Altered Beast looks like Satan!
SEGA made a handful of missteps with the launch of the SEGA Genesis and while Altered Beast wasn’t the best choice to push consoles it’s a reasonable port of the arcade game and demonstrated what the SEGA Genesis was capable of.
Either way Altered Beast is still a common game and can be found very easily. You can find copies for as low as $4, but $6 is about average.
What’s a copy of Spy Hunter on NES worth?
Arcade week hasn’t ended here at Video Game Price Guides, and today we’re checking out Spy Hunter for NES. Spy Hunter is one of those simple yet great arcade games that you can sit down and kill some time on just trying to get get further in the game.
As a reasonable port of the arcade game, Spy Hunter features everything the arcade version has including the weapons, the enemies, and even the strategies. Even the boat level is included!
If there is any complaint about Sunsoft’s Spy Hunter its that the game can be pretty glitchy. on more than one occasion we’ve had the screen lock up but the enemy cars speed up the screen for no provoked reason. It doesn’t happen a lot, and when it does it’s kinda funny.
Anyways Spy Hunter is worth only, it’s cheap, easy to find, and you can probably pick up your copy for $5 or less!
